THE WOMAN I WANT TO BE

I was born a little girl
innocent and carefree
With time I grew up
not knowing how fast
I failed to realize
That time fails wait for anyone

The hands of the clock ticked on
seasons changed rapidly with leaves
People came into my world
Some stayed on,while others refused to look back
Now I'm at the crossroads of life
Deciding what I want to do and become
It isn't an easy choice
For there is a particular type of woman I want to be

I want to be that woman
who has compassion in her eyes and warmth in her heart
who is a reader of many minds
who can differentiate between emotions
who will prioritize her people :the right ones from the wrong
and who can swim strong through several tides

I want to be that woman
who is God fearing and worshiping
who practices what she preaches
who can inspire young girls
who will throw tantrums now and then, yet simmer down
who will PMS to no end and shamelessly admit it

I want to be that woman
who will be her own mouth piece
who will effortlessly shop till she drops
who will venture out, party and dance like there is no tomorrow
who will crib about this and that
and yet find joy in the tiny, joyous things that life has to offer

I want to be that woman
who will always dress to impress
who will never settle for a just ANY man who comes her way
who will love unconditionally and be loved
who will make her parents proud
who will make her family and friends smile, happy and loud

I want to be that woman
who may occasionally succumb to pressures
but will sail through those times beyond measures
who will make acquaintances
and even better comrades, at all instances

I want to be that woman
who will take up jobs that give her satisfaction
who will travel the world and eat all the food she wants
who will nurture a happy family
who will balance the cycle of life,at home and at work

I want to be that woman
responsible for my every deed
independent with my every choice
kind with my every gesture
trustworthy with every single secret
patient with every being
enthusiastic on every occasion
victorious with every endeavor
expressive with every emotion

I want to be that woman
who is subtle yet strong, powerful yet humble ,level headed, classy yet down to earth.
someone who wants to be the change she wants to see
someone who will achieve her goals and yet improve with every step she takes
and reach the pinnacle of her destiny and glory, now and forever.

I want to be that woman I have always dreamed of being !

Travel Post #5 : 10 BALINESE DELIGHTS TO STIMULATE YOUR TASTE BUDS

Bali is an Indonesian island known for its pristine beaches , beautiful temples and street food. There are a host of Indonesian delicacies that one would come across while walking along any road in this beautiful island. The food they serve in these small eateries ( “Warungs”) looks tempting and is too difficult to resist. Since the Indonesian Rupaiah runs in lakhs don’t be surprised if you are asked to pay up two lakh rupees for a simple dish. On my recent trip to Bali I ended up gorging on authentic Balinese/Indonesian cuisine ; right from street vendors to fancy hotels. The best part is they customize their non-veg dishes to suit the vegetarian palate too. Here are a few items that I devoured on the trip and absolutely loved. 1) Bakso This is a traditional Indonesian delicacy and one of the most popular ones. You will find plenty of street vendors selling Bakso along the streets of Bali. It is an eclectic mix of  tangy, spicy soup, meat balls, wontons, tofu and noodles. The

Soya Chunks Broccoli Curry | Soya Chunks Curry Recipe | Indian Recipe

Soya Chunks  Broccoli Curry  | Soya Chunks Curry Recipe | Indian Recipe I attribute my varied palate to my Appa and Amma and no one else. Although South-Indian, growing up I was exposed to so many cuisines and I am not talking about, "just in restaurants". I am talking about "in Amma's kitchen". She wasn't just the Idli-Dosa kinda mom. She always ensured that she cooked up a different storm in the kitchen everyday and for that, I cannot be more thankful. Way before this whole "vegan" thing came into existence, she introduced me to Soya Chunks. We did eat non-veg at home but not everyday. That's when the humble Soya Chunks/ Soya Nuggets come to the rescue. The texture and taste (according to me) are nothing when compared to chicken but there is something about these nuggets that strike a chord with my palate.  Soya chunks especially when cooked in a curry form absorb water and spices. You take one bite and you realize ho
