Food Lovers Paradise

Well well well Indians are suppose to be the biggest foodies you can find. And the UAE is a treat for food lovers. There is a wide variety of options to choose from for people from any continent. There is not a single type of cuisine that Dubai DOESN'T cater to. You will find atleat 10 restaurants in one street alone which include Indian,Lebanese,French and so on.There are many  cafés and  pâtisseries along every street there. Talking about the local Arab cuisine,it is lip-smacking,thoroughly delicious. My favourite dish happens to be Shawarma which is meat( preferably chicken) rolled in pita bread and then there is  Za'atar , a blend of herbs, sesame and salt best eaten with Kubus( Arabic bread). From what I've observed Arabs love CHICKEN.anytime.anywhere. For vegetarians Falafel works as an amazing starter. It  is a deep-fried ball or patty made from ground chickpeas and/or fava beans. Its crispy on the outside and something you would love to much on. The...

The Mall Culture Of Dubai

Dubai with its multiple high rise buildings is also home to several malls. All malls in Dubai have pretty much the same outlets but the expanse of the malls took me by surprise.Being an Indian the concept of a mall for me just meant a symmetrical building which houses several outlets that give provide ladies with their much required doze of retail therapy, food kiosks, few recreational activities to keep the kids busy and also the cinemas. But when I entered the malls in Dubai I was mesmerized by how different and rather unusual they looked. It was like entering a different world all together. The architectural magnificence of the structures, the number of stores, the type of shops, the various kinds of entertainment modes available, the kind of food, the myriad of people EVERYTHING absolutely everything was stunning beyond words. For a person with no stamina and no appetite for window shopping(or even actual shopping) any mall in Dubai would be a big no-no.But for someone like me who is willi...

Dubai-My Take

Well to start with: My recent trip to Dubai and Abu Dhabi  happened to be one of the best vacations of my life. Dubai is so gorgeous and full of life and also I was hosted by my extremely warm and friendly relatives (including uncle, aunt and little cousin and also another cousin and his wife). We chose the perfect time to head to Dubai the reason being  i) Amazing weather and and hence lots of tourists and ii) the   DUBAI SHOPPING FESTIVAL   We left Bengaluru on 30th Dec 2011 by a 7:00 pm flight and landed in Dubai at around 9:30 pm (UAE time). Our entry wasn't smooth since we had to wait in the long queue for the iris scan and later the passport stamping. But I would say it was all worth it. The airport was full of tired passengers but none of them seemed to reflect that on their faces. After all they were in DUBAI and that too for NEW YEAR'S EVE. Everyone , I'm assuming was gung-ho about welcoming the year 2012 in the best city of the UAE. The time I spent...

Highway Through My Lens..

I've been on quite a few road journeys in these 19 years and 6 months of my existence. This was the first time I got off the car and decided to take some pictures on the HIGHWAY which always happens to be the best part of the drive.Indian highways are broad and magnificent and if you leave the window of your car/vehicle open you will be mesmerized with the wind that hits your face. Its fresh and smells lovely and it feels great on your skin,Our highways are a clear representation of our development but alongside that ,through our journey we come across so many villages and towns and there has to be atleast one thing about these places that has to take every single traveler by storm.Be it the shops, the houses, buses or hotels. This push cart is a must have for every vendor ..He/she uses it to pull his fruits/vegetables/trash and the lower part of this cart is also used to protect his/her baby from the heat and the rains and it is used as a cradle! And we thought peopl...

Street food thrives in India

Despite all the fast foods and restaurants and malls coming up here and there Indian street food will always be relished by everyone.I mean absoluteyl EVERYONE.Be it Idlis,Vadas, and dosas or vadapavs and pani puri and bhel puri. Our street food might not look hygienic but once u taste it you will always come back for more. There is a unique fragrance each dish leaves out that draws a passerby on the road to go and get a taste of whats cooking.Every road and street(galli as we call it) has its very own characteristic food STALL to have your daily doze of street khana from.  Amazingly tasty Indian capsicum with spicy red chilli powder and boiled peanuts..The perfect meal and a very cold hill station.  These farm fresh carrots caught my attention during my trip to Kodai.I tasted them and realised byt the time these carrots reach our city they lose their taste leaving us with un-juicy and dead carrots which we cannot even relish.  What can I say bout these V...

Pink Lover ♥

Somewhere Somehow every girl LOVES pink ♥ The day she is born all her mother can think of is how lovely the baby girl will look in a cute little pink baby frock and how pretty her PINK room will be.Pink is like the default GIRL color. Every girl owns atleast SOMETHING pink either in her wardrobe, among her stationary, her lingerie, her make-up,her bags or even the BUBBLEGUM she chews! I must add my dad is one of those very few men who look amazing in this vibrant pink and oh! how can I forget hot pink lipstick? it looks LIP-SMACKING! I personally think pink is an amazingly vibrant color. The color fills with me some sort of joy i absolutely cannot explain. Its like this rush of happiness in me when I set eyes on the colour. Any shade would make my day especially if its sparkly. Hot pink is one of my favourite colours.Makes my eyes twinkle with joy. But its ironic how I've never like or fancied the nickname PINKY for a girl child. It doesn make sense to me. I've always drea...

The Beauty of those fallen leaves...

Its strange how we can like leaves when they are green and lush and swinging on the trees but we would rather take a picture of it all brown and scattered on the road..The gorgeous leaves have lost their shine but still there is something about this picture that makes me go all OH MY GOD this is indeed a good one.! The leaves are rustled and there is a fine balance between the green and brown dried up leaves..!
